Texas governor Greg Abbott signs law establishing decommissioning procedures for BESS
Texas, US, Governor Greg Abbott signed a law placing mandates on decommissioning battery energy storage system (BESS) facilities at the end of their lifecycle. House Bill no. 3809 (HB 3809) was signed into law by Abbott on 29 May, and will take effect on 1 September. It will apply to BESS projects not owned by an electric utility.
